Our History

Founded in 1985, Elmill recently celebrated 40 years of successful trading and evolution. The journey has seen a pattern of growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism that has seen the Group grow to four autonomous businesses that supply niche engineering solutions.

  • 1985 – Elmill began as an engineering business providing niche skills
  • 1995 – Swaging skills were recruited to meet customer demands
  • 2001 – Experience had grown to include Tow bar hitches, Cable manufacture and end turning
  • 2003 – Welding skills enabled the production of welded assemblies
  • 2011 – Early interaction with CNC machines to bring production of welded parts in house.
  • 2015 – KM Engineering was acquired to add CNC Engineering skills of exotic materials for the oil and gas markets
  • 2017 KM acquired 5 axis mills and additional space for separate spark eroding unit
  • 2018 – FGL Precision was acquired to diversify into aerospace and gear cutting and further assembly capacity
  • 2021 Elmill relocated the CNC equipment and invested in multiple CNC machines to increase the size of parts produced for both milling and turning
  • 2024 – Adcutech was acquired, to add more CNC capacity, efficiency in volume production and the niche market of door hatches for secure spaces

All of the businesses have traded for over 30 years and an entrepreneurial culture has seen them all evolve through investment to adapt to the changing industrial environment.
